UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM!
Hey guys, I have a new blog buddy who is the nicest person ever! Click here to see what she wrote about me on her blog.
As I was adding labels to all of my blogs last night, I realized that I had just barely mentioned that I was on Criminal Minds one day and I never even talked about filming that day. So, in honor of my new blog buddy, Jill, I'm going to talk about it now!
The date I was on this show was September 20th and the episode shouldn't have aired too long ago. There is usually about a 4-6 week time period between airing and filming. One of my friends actually called me and said they saw me on this episode. So, we shot on location at a local high school in Tarzana, CA which is in the valley. I played a football player. Let me start by saying that it takes 8 days to shoot one episode, and I was only there for one day for one scene, so I'm not sure what went on in the entire episode. Anyways, in the scene that I was in, we were having a huge pep rally because our football team was going to the championship. The last time our team had made it to the championship was back in 1984, so this was a huge deal! We, the football players, were on a podium with our coach and there was a huge bonfire behind us. For anyone who has this show recorded, if you're looking at the television screen, I'm on the left hand side, toward the back and I have me glasses on. It may be hard to spot me because, honestly, I was bored and it was FREEZING cold that night.
Earlier in the day, we actually had to put on some old raggedy football jersies and pose for a picture as the 1984 team that made it to the championship. Yep, that's right. I was part of a 1984 team and 2006 team in the same episode. That's Hollywood folks! I can't remember, but I think they were going to show this picture in the episode as part of a newspaper clipping from back in the day. So as we were waiting to film our scene, we were sitting in the football stands watching them film another scene. In between takes, Shemar Moore was throwing the football with us and just having a really good time. He is really cool. Unfortunately, he is the only part of the cast that I knew at the time, so I'm not sure what other cast members were there. Thanks to Jill, I know them all now!
That being said, I must confess that I have had many more opportunities to be on Criminal Minds but I have declined ONLY because they mostly shoot on location in a town that is like 40 miles north of L.A. and most of the time I don't feel like fighting the traffic to go there when I could just work on Warner Brother Studies 5 miles away. BUT, now that I have a reason to be on Criminal Minds I will most certainly see what I can do once we get back into the swing of things on January 3rd.
**UPDATE** I did some research and I believe this episode aired November 1st and it was titled "North Mammon". My scene would have been the opening scene!
***UPDATE#2*** Jill, my new blog buddy and genius found the screen caps for this episode I was in. http://www.iad-ordnonstop.net/index2x07.html. I am on page 1, row 2, pictures 2,3, and 4 and also row 3, pictures 1,2, and 3. I'm behind the coach, the guy with the glasses on. Jill is awesome!!!!!

Kris: This was sweet and very unneccesary. I may have only found your blog because of my interest in Criminal Minds but I kept reading it because you are an interesting person and I admire your reaching for your dream. I work in Marketing and I love it but it was an easy dream to achieve. School, school and more school. What you are doing takes a leap of faith and a level of determination that most people do not either have or dream about. I hope that your Christmas is wonderful without too much homesickness. I know that we are going to hear wonderful things from you in the New Year.
As much as the people who read my blog love Criminal Minds we all realize that you have to choose work that makes sense to you. That said....I also believe that you are learning the good, bad and the ugly from the actors you are watching. I have seen Mandy perform many times over the years and he has spoken at charity events that I have attended and I have to believe that if you were in scenes with him you would learn something. If that ever proves itself untrue I am begging you to warn me before you write about it. LOL. While I blog to work off some work stress I do think reading that would send me running to my bed. :)
Jill
Hey Kris! Well Jill send me the link for your blog. What I read so far sounds very interesting. I'm a huge Criminal Minds fan that's how I get known to Jill. But I don't know the episode you described because I live in Germany and here they are still showing season 1. But whenever they show this episode over here, I will see if I can find you;)
Well then have a Merry Christmas and good luck with your work!
Bye Claudi
Hey, Kris! You have a great blog, and I'm glad that Jill pointed us your way.
Thanks for posting your experience on Criminal Minds. It's my favorite show, and it's nice to get any little tidbits. Glad you at least got to see Shemar Moore. From what I've read, he's a very nice person, as well as talented and gorgeous.
Best of luck as you continue your acting career.

Kris - Congratulations to you for giving it everything you've got to achieve your dreams. It's people like you that inspire others to reach for theirs! I am glad that you have been encouraged to stay your course. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey to success.
I don't know that much about blogs and what it takes to create one, but yours looks great. Hey, anything with Shemar Moore on it has my vote! I am happy to hear that yet another person has had a positive experience meeting him! I hope to meet him one day (hopefully soon!).
Happy Holidays!!!
Marissa :)
I have never seen Criminal Minds. I'll see if I can get my hands on the episode, as I have yet to see you on TV at all. :(
Merry Christmas!!!
Kris: Here is a link to Joan's screencaps from that episode. When you have a few minutes take a look and see if you are in any of them. Jill

Jill you are a GENIUS!!! Where on earth did you get that link??? I'm in 6 of the shots in clear view!! I'm in row 2, pictures 2,3 and 4. Also I'm in row 3, pictures 1,2 and 3. I'm the only football player in those shots with the coach. I'm in plain view. That is amazing!!!
I love you for that!!
The screencap site that I sent you to is the wonderous work of Joan, cattylizzie, who makes screencaps for all the episodes of Criminal Minds. She is a lovely woman and I know she would not mind in the least if you copy the caps. Remember to click open the cap to full size before you save it.
Most Criminal Minds fans tape all the episodes and I am sure many people will be rewatching this episode and looking for you. Fans in all the various tv fandoms have sites similar to mine and I would bet you are in screencaps in places you would not begin to imagine.
Remember it doesn't matter how you cross a room. The only thing that matters is that you get from one side to the other. I think the people that are carried across never truly appreciate the journey. Please try to remember that whenever it gets rough and you think about tossing in the towel. My email address is: displacednewyorker@gmail.com. I tried to email you some ideas but the email address you have on your blog kept tossing the mail back to me. When you get a chance drop me a line. Jill (I am amazed your mom and I share the same name and it was very nice of her to comment on my blog)
pretty cool - keep up the good work
I have only a few comments on this, the day before Jesus' birthday. Namely - I'd never heard of Ripsi or her show but watching those videos makes me want to be a veterinarian. And furthermore - if you're going to do something -- go the distance. Either you're in a porn or you're not -- none of this "kinda" business! Pick a side!
Merry Xmas, d00d.
Hey, Kris --
Jill led me here, but I think I'll stay a while and catch up on your journey. I'm living just outside Cleveland, and once dreamed of doing exactly what you've done, but I lacked the nerve and probably the talent. (I still wanna be a writer when I grow up ...)
I am *totally* rooting for your big big success!
And, ahem, GO BUCKS! (You knew that was coming, right?)
I will shoot you an email in a few minutes. Stacy sent me some links to pictures she thinks might be you from CSI Miami. She is another screencap goddess and a dear friend and after reading your blog she used some of the info you had posted about the scenes you have been in to try to match them to the caps to find you. Let us know. Jill
Sorry. I meant CSI NY.
Wow....thank you to everyone and their comments. And a big fat thank you to Jill for letting people know about my blog.
I honestly didn't think anyone would care too much until I got some roles on some major productions, but I'm glad people like my blog.
Being here in Hollywood, I need all the positive energy I can get.
Thanks a million everyone!!!
Oh how NEAT! There you are, right there in the picture! So cool. Now I just have to catch you on the tv!
